A Hero Has Fallen

I'm almost speechless and honestly disappointed that Carlin has passed before me.  It isn't fair really, he had so much more to contribute to the world than I.  Here's a great article from TIME;

Because I started mentioning the giant playlist testings I figured I should put in another update that awhile back it was extended to over 80 hours.

Be sure to keep up with the ratings and all that so we can keep improving the stream!!
Primary Rotation
The primary playlist for unscheduled programming is increasing in length.  The regular non-scheduled rotatation is now over 70 hours and growing.  Soon this should reach nearly 4 days long.
More updates, new faces...
So among other audio being mixed in we have some Alpha Matrix goodies including the likes of Glis, Diskonekted, Essence of Mind Insurrection, Diffuzion, nebula-H, Stray, Crisk, and Agonised by Love.

There are also some new artists showing up from Shinto Records such as Batzz in the Belfry, Fear of Dolls, JasonAlacrity, Phantoms of the S.S., Scarlet Slipping, and The Oedipus Complex.

Feedback welcome!

Keep your ears peeled and enjoy.
Also in the updates...
You'll be hearing new work from Juno Reactor in a new album called Gods & Monsters.

We're also playing a new release from seabound called:

Come Forward - Live in Berlin

System Syn is bringing us a new album called "End" coming up.  As well as a digital only single this month called Like Every Insect.  One of these tracks is already in the playlists, so keep your ears open.

I'll also be processing some stuff from Alpha Matrix and a few indy submissions that have been piling up but require more time to handle...

Enjoy.
Music Updates
Among the more interesting playlist updates on my desk right now are;

Gradients by Negative Format, coming April 12th.
Gradients by Negative Format

We also have City by Snog.  This will be a digital only EP coming out April 29th.  One of the tracks up now is Lost at Sea (The Calculators Remix) which is particularly cool.
City by Snog

Then yet another album from Wumpscut called SCHÄDLING, which should be a fun one.  So far it seems a little different and I'm not so sure about it but as usual I'll reserve my opinion until I've heard the whole album.  This one will be available April 8th.
SCHÄDLING by :Wumpscut:

There's already some tracks in there, more being added as they come!  Listen and enjoy.
Comcast tries to buy our silence
SavetheInternet.com just caught Comcast Corp. stacking an FCC hearing with paid (and apparently sleepy) seat-fillers. Paid Seat Fillers

The hearing was set up to investigate Comcast's recent blocking of the Internet. But Comcast packed the room so that the public couldn't get in to voice their support for Net Neutrality.

They took pictures and recorded an interview that proves Comcast was taking seats from concerned citizens.

Video Link: [here]

Here's a few things that you can do:

Tell the FCC to stop Comcast Web blocking.

Tell your friends to take action at SavetheInternet.com.

Support SavetheInternet.com's campaign to protect free choice on the Internet.

More from SaveTheInternet.com:

Comcast is blocking the public debate just like it is blocking the Internet: it wields its substantial political and financial power to shut out debate and shut up people.

The picture above (which you can redistribute as you wish) tells a part of the story. Comcast paid people to fill space who were so uninterested in the issue that they took the opportunity to nap. Meanwhile, more than a hundred people with legitimate concerns were left out in the Boston cold. (read more about it on our blog and the links below)

Tens of thousands of people have already protested Comcast by writing the FCC a or urging their elected officials to support the "Internet Freedom Preservation Act," a bipartisan bill that would re-establish Net Neutrality protections as a foundation of communications policy.

For too long, media policymaking has been rigged against us. By taking action, we're sending a wakeup call to phone and cable lobbyists that they will no longer set the agenda.

Whether it's on the Internet or at public hearings, we will stand up for everyone's right to connect and be heard.

Among the updates....
ComputorgirlSo I've been trying to sort music out and clean things up while coming up with some updates for the day and I found good old Computorgirl.  So I'm hand selecting a few good tracks to include in my updates.  It's too bad she fell off my radar for some time.  Good stuff.

Also I'm happy to say that the 10,000 Live365 user preset landmark was blown away some time back.  Very nice.  I'd just like to see everyone tuned in at the same time.  ;-)
Cool tidbit
So, for such a small operation...  Especially one that fluctuates so much with the seasons, I've always been surprised at how well the station does on live365.  When the rating gets close to 8 it bums me out somewhat.  The station has never seen the perfect 10 rating that I figure is required for a full 5 star rating but has been holding strong at ~9 of 10 most of the time.  That's always great.  The thing is, I've always ignored the number of presets the station has been on.  I don't use the presets.  I don't know anyone who uses them.  (ok so most people only use live365 to listen to ebm-radio.com I mean give me a break.  Though there are some other good broadcasts, especially for other kinds of music - but who uses that shit?) so it wasn't until recently I noticed the station is on 9999 registered user's presets.  ONE MORE of you maggots and the station will be on 10 THOUSAND peoples presets.

I'm thrilled to reach a few hundred of you amazing people with insane taste in music who're able to deal with the fact that the industry doesn't crank out as much fresh material as other areas of music.  But 10 THOUSAND?

The funny thing is, this has held for a week or two now.  Where's Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. 10k?

Well anyway.  Meh.  Good going people.  I salute your unequaled taste.  While I'm at it I'm sorry ebm-radio.com hasn't just exploded and taken over the world but I'm on a budget here.  Some day hopefully I'll find a way to contribute the extra funds needed to take our enjoyment of this music to a large enough scale to be able to get the artists to crank out more music and for there to be more good clubs in areas like mine where they don't exist...  I don't want this stuff to become mainstream but I do feel like in my region and many others we're being starved to death.  We need the numbers required to at least sustain ourselves and the way the world is that's not going to happen.  I'd sure like to help that change.

Until then - keep loving the music.  Keep your ears peeled and keep in touch.

Here we are again
With another week largly over-with a new pile of tracks has come in from metropolis records.  Today starting about 1pm till after 11:30pm you'll be hearing a playlist mainly composed of these new tracks.  Most of the rest of the stuff had to be added to meet DMCA requirements but was picked from the current highest rated tracks - should make for a really great listen?

For those who may be wondering what new releases are included... Here are some of the most recent albums in the pool;

The first one to mention is Bach Project by Die Form...  Wow!  I doubt it'll be everyones newest favorite album but it's pretty cool.

There's also Hanzel Und Gretyl's new 2012- Zwanzig Zwolf.  Seems to be quite a few of you wacky Hanzel fans and this one is hot off the presses...

Also cool is the Die Krupps "Too Much History" album.  This here is a set of the metal years and the electro years - no shortage of classic here!

There are sample tracks from other unreleased goodies by bands like KMFDM (upcoming album: BRIMBORIUM).  Who hasn't been waiting for more Combichrist remixes, I mean come on.  Instant classic.

I'm about out of time and if you're still reading this you should probably just go listen!

So enjoy, stomp some ravers and stay tuned in!
Friday's Mix

So this weeks special mix day is Friday.  It started about 1 hour ago.  As usual the base of it is the highest rated tracks and some of the most recently aqiured new releases and promos from upcoming albums...  Including Metropolis and Alpha Matrix.

There should be some good indy stuff coming soon too.

This time the mix started a little later but will go all night so it's also been adjusted a little towards the party spectrum.  Still with plenty (maybe too much) variety but with no shortage of harsh, dark, hotness.

Enjoy!
